As the owner and designer of Mas de Baraquet, (Veranda Cover, 1999) our home in Provence for over 20 years, I had the privilege of collaborating with many French artisans, including the French architecture and landscape design team Bruno and Dominique Lafourcade, on the complete renovation of our once dilapidated Provence farmhouse. This experience gave me total exposure into all aspects of French design.
I am still immersed.
French-inspired homes I designed have been featured in Veranda, Maison Côté Sud, British Homes & Gardens, French Elle Decoration, Traditional Home, and Architektur & Wohnen.
As a personal project, I designed our Parisian Hotel Particular home in Atlanta (Veranda Cover, 2006) that we built from the ground up using many 18th century design materials found in and around Paris and southern France.
Most recently, I have done a complete renovation of a small Mediterranean style Laguna Beach, California house, redefining it to have a French California Modern sensibility. Southern California and Southern France are both all about indoor/outdoor living and lots of natural light. French design translates beautifully into a California setting.
